74th Annual SMACNA Convention – Oct. 22-25, 2017 | Maui, HI

With record attendance, the 74th Annual SMACNA Convention was held at the Grand Wailea Resort in Maui October 22-25, 2017. SMCI had 10 attendees along with spouses and children who attended seminars, SMAC PAC Night, a product show and saw entertainment including a Hawaiian drum performance and an amazing Queen Tribute band.

In spite of 3 days of rain and one day with no power to the island, everyone managed to have a good time. Tuesday’s planned chapter night with Kansas City on a sunset cruise had to be canceled due to rain but everyone seemed to roll with the bad weather.

What else can you do?

Annual Associate and Contractor Golf Outing

SMCI held its annual Associate and Contractor Golf Outing on September 27th at the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort in Riverside, Iowa.  This annual event pairs contractors with associate members for 18 holes of fun and networking.  This year 50+ golfers enjoyed golf, food, prizes and raffles along with a lot of laughs.

45+ people came the night before the golf outing for cocktails, dinner and team selection. It’s a very scientific process picking the teams between balancing contractors and associates and A, B, C and D players.  Everyone participates and joins in the fun.   A big thank you to our golf commissioners Tom Wengert and Dana Kever.
